all began
Sturdy Clothing Co. was founded in 1997, born out of a simple idea: that parents and pupils deserved a better uniform shopping experience. What started as a dedicated school shop on the premises of St Michael’s Preparatory School in Otford has grown into a trusted uniform supplier serving families across Kent and South East London.
From day one, we’ve operated completely independently – our own staff, our own suppliers, our own standards. That independence means we can focus entirely on what matters: providing the right uniform, at the right price, with the kind of personal service you’d expect from a family business.
The concept proved so popular that we’ve since introduced the same model to other schools in the area, with each shop tailored specifically to that school’s uniform requirements.
